A vaginal suppository is a way to get the medication or natural treatment directly to where the candida problem is. It is essentially pushing the treatment into the vaginal canal. There are several brands of medicated treatments you can purchase over the counter from a pharmacy that sell vaginal suppositories as a means of delivering the drug to treat the yeast infection, but you can also make your own if you prefer to use more natural ingredients.
Garlic is probably the easiest and most effective ingredient you can use as a vaginal suppository. Here is an easy and quick way to make a homemade garlic vaginal suppository treatment for a yeast infection.
- Peel a clove of garlic. If you tend to have sensitive skin avoid making any cuts into the flesh of the garlic. If you want however you can make a small cut to allow some of the juice out. However some women find this stings and causes discomfort.
- Wrap the clove into either gauze or cheesecloth and twist the end so it has a small tail for when it is time to remove.
- Insert the wrapped clove up the vaginal canal. If you want you can dip the suppository in some herbal oil so that it slides in easier.
- Take out and replace every 3 to 5 hours and continue when you can for up to five days.
