No no no! Douching is actually a cause of vaginal yeast infections and unless a doctor specifically advices you to do it for a limited period of time you should not douche at all, ever. Douching upsets the balance of micro-organisms in the vagina, it can lead to good bacteria being killed and it is the good bacteria that control the candida growth and stop it from overgrowing into a yeast infection. Douching is something your grandmother or mother may have done and thinks its okay to do, but today we understand more how the balance of the vagina is so important.
Also the fact is the vagina is self cleaning, it does not need water being squirted up there, it takes care of itself! All you need to do is clean the outer genitalia using mild and unscented products, and make sure you dry the area thoroughly after. Douching should be made a thing of the past!
